How to do Basic Mail Trouble shooting in Linux Reseller Hosting Plan

Please find the below atricle which describes the Basic Mail Trouble shooting steps to be followed at your end in Linux Reseller Hosting Plan.

1] Mails not sending and receiving. No bounced back messages

1. Check in your network whether the ports 143,110,25,443 are enabled in the firewall.
2. Check whether the Email ID which you are using is correct.
3. Check whether the Email ID for which you are sending mail is exist

4. Check whether the Email ID Quota is exceeded. If so, use the below procedure to increase the email Quota

1. Login to the cpanel
2. Click on Email Accounts option under Mails
3. Select the corresponding change Quota option for which Email ID you want to increase the Quota.
4. Change the Quota value and Click on change Quota.
5. Check whether the domain is working.

2] Webmail is not working:

To access the Webmail

1. Go to the URL http://www.domain name.com/webmail
2. Supply the user name and password

User name : this is the full email id that you have created in the
Cpanelpassword : password of the email that you have created in the cpanel

3. Click on Enter
4. Click on Squirrel mail icon or Horder mail icon
5. Now you will be able to view your emails.

3] Trusted Certificate error

The SSL alert that you get [ Untrusted Connection ] is due to the fact that the server uses Open SSL certificate for SSL. Please note that Open SSL is used in the server side for your protection only. This does no harm to you. You can just ignore it and proceed further or you can install the certificate in your browser so that such an alert will not come in future.
Just ignore it and then proceed further to access the control panel or if you want to avoid this for ever, If you are using Mozilla Firefox, follow as below Click on I understand the risk>>Add exception>>get certificate>>Confirm security certificate,

4] domainname/webmail is not working in Linux Reseller Hosting Plan

1. Check whether the name servers are pointed to our server properly.
2. If you have changed the nameservers recently, it will take 24 to 48 hours to reflect which depends on the ISP.
3. Check whether you are giving the domain name properly.
4. Until the name server reflection you can use servername/webmail to access the mails.

5] If Email ID password is not working

1. Login to the cpanel of the domain by using the URL
2. Click on Email Accounts option under Mails
3. Select the corresponding change password option for which Email ID you want to change the password
4. Change the password and Click on change password.

6] If you receive No such user here Error

1. Check whether the Email ID is present
2. Check whether the domain is present
3. If the domain is present in our server and MX record is pointing to any other server, make sure that you are creating the Email ID in the server where the MX records are pointed
4. Aso select remote mail Exchanger in the DNS zone of our server by,

a. Login to the WHM
b. Click on Edit DNS Zone under DNS Function option.
c. Select the Domain name and click on Edit.
d. Choose Remote Mail Exchanger under Email Routing for option and check it.

7] Email are not working in outlook

1. Check your outlook configuration whether you have configured properly.
2. If you changed the name servers recently, instead of the mail.domainname,use the server IP address for both Incoming and outgoing mail server.
3. Check whether the SMTP and POP3 port numbers 110,25 are enabled in the firewall.

8] If it asks the password again and again.

1. While configuring the mail ID in outlook Click on remember password.

9] Showing the recipient Mailid is wrong

1. The issue is with the recepient’s mail ID.
2. Check the recepient mail ID whether it is correct.
