How to connect WinFTP in Windows Reseller Hosting?

WinSCP is an open source SFTP client and FTP client for Windows. Its main function is the secure file transfer between a local and a remote computer. Beyond this, WinSCP offers basic file manager functionality. It uses Secure Shell (SSH) and supports, in addition to Secure FTP, also legacy SCP protocol.

1. Download and install the WinSCP on your PC.

2.Open a new session.

*  Enter the name of the machine you wish to connect in the box [Host Name]. *  can specific an IP address also.*  Enter your usename in the box [User name].*  Keep the default setting SFTP with Allow SCP fallback selected.

3. Next, select the Proxy tab.
*  Make sure “none” is selected.

4. Select the Tunnel tab.
* Tick “Connect through SSH tunnel”.* Enter “gaterkeeper.cs.hku.hk” as Host name and also enter your username.

5.Select Preferences tab
*  Select the Interface that you prefered.

6. Click “Save…” to save your setting.

7. Click “Login” to start the session. Your password will be prompted twice.

8. The first one is for opening a SSH connection to gatekeeper.cs.hku.hk.
* The seond one is for logging on to the file server (virtue.cs.hku.hk in this example).
* Transfer files as you like.
