New API2 Functions
Developers who employ cpanel’s powerful API2 system to integrate cPanel functions into their custom software will now be able to use it to:
- Add, change, or list mail exchange servers for a domain
- Choose to always deliver mail to the local server, regardless of its MX priority
- Add, edit, remove, and list DNS zone records for a domain
- Restore DNS zones to the configurations listed in httpd.conf
- List domains on the server that have their own DNS zones
JSON Support
11.28 also allows you to view an API call’s output in the JSON format. Now, you can easily use Javascript to manipulate cPanel/WHM. With this new output format, you may take your applications to nearly any medium, be it laptop, desktop, or mobile phone.
Faster API
In addition to added functionality and a new output language, cpanel have worked to make its API as fast as possible. Integrating with cPanel/WHM has never been so fast or simple.
Database Mapping
Prior to cPanel & WHM 11.28, databases and database users were prefixed with the database owner’s cPanel user name. The latest version of cPanel & WHM allows system administrators to disable this naming convention, providing greater flexibility to you and your clients.
This change:
- Simplifies migration from other control panels
- Improves use of remote database servers
- Lays a foundation for future improvements to database service enhancements.

Redesigned WHM interfaces
We have given a facelift to a number of WHM interfaces. The updated interfaces include:
- Tweak Settings
- Exim Configuration Editor
- Basic cPanel/WHM Setup
Each of these interfaces now features tabs that divide settings into categories, warnings when invalid data is entered, and a search field to make finding items in the lists a snap.zz
